July 29

Cucumbers are doing okay. But the watermelon aren't getting pollinated. Sad.
Can't see it, but the corn is finally getting tassels.

 Sunflower should open soon.

Big Max number one did not get pollinated, but I think the second did.

This cherry tomato seems to have survived the mites and my pruning. There are two plants there, they both lived and look healthy again. The seeds that fell down there are growing and it's a carpet it's so thick with little green leaves. Probably not good, but .....

 watermelon in the bucket

I just liked the water shining in the sun on the leaves

We bought all different colors of bell peppers but last night I decided I like the green ones best. This one is a nearly black one that is supposed to be purple? It was okay. The sweet gypsy ones are okay too, but I really like the green.

Couldn't find the tomato worm this morning. He ate to leaf stems completely off. We did see a mouse poop near where it was, do mice eat tomato horn worms???

I did not know strawberries produce for so long.

I had to soap the squash because the darn ants were bringing their aphids up on the leaves. grrrr. No wonder they couldn't grow.

July 28th playing with food we grew ourselves.

This is food we have grown ourselves. That is why it's so fun.

Playing with Food That We Grew

July 28

 Monday Morning July 28th.
Found a big tomato worm but I left it there because I think they are about the coolest thing. And I read that they are the sphinx moth. Don't know if that is true but it raised their cool factor with me. I don't think I could kill them if they were all over the tomatoes, but that's just me.

Sunflower is as tall as the house now, the flower is still be stubborn and not opening. Do they need to be pollinated, you need more than one????
Corn and watermelon getting very tall and long.
pollinated this one by hand because the other one did not get it I don't think. So I'm pretty sure I will get at least one big pumpkin off this Big Max.

Joe's Pond water bucket plants are doing good.

Red Romaine lettuce doing well also in pond water.

This tomato was pulled off the main vine and stuck in the dirt. It finally perked up and now has mites. grrr.  The lettuce under it is doing really well, that is the one bought at the store, eaten and the stub stuck in the dirt.

Sunset Runner Beans starting to climb.

Peas are also starting to climb.

Squash in the dirt is not doing so well.

But the squash in the pond is doing better.

Joe's Potted trees, he re-potted his mom's little lemon tree. That thing smells sooooo good.
